Hometown Heroes Banner Order Forms Due May 5
Every hero should be recognized. The City of Santa Clarita’s Hometown Heroes Military Banner Program honors actively-serving military members from Santa Clarita Valley with streetlight pole banners. Orders are now being accepted for banners to be installed by Memorial Day, May 29, 2017. The last day to order banners is Monday, May 5, 2017. Order forms can be found at santa-clarita.com/heroes.
The Hometown Heroes Military Banner Program offers local friends and families of actively-serving military personnel an opportunity to have one streetlight pole banner installed in a major thoroughfare in Santa Clarita (Canyon Country, Valencia, Saugus and Newhall). Each banner features the military member’s photograph, name, rank and branch of the military they serve.
“I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many hometown heroes from Santa Clarita Valley and they should be honored for their service. These banners are an excellent way to proudly share the names and faces of the men and women who serve our country and our community,” says Councilmember Bob Kellar.
To qualify, honorees must be an active duty military member from the United States Armed Forces, must be a current Santa Clarita resident, or be an immediate family member of a current Santa Clarita resident and have lived in Santa Clarita Valley at some point.
Each banner costs $417.50 plus tax, but thanks to generous sponsors, these special banners are achievable for any budget. A special $100 discounted rate is currently available. Additional sponsorships may also be available. The price includes one 3’x6’ double-sided, vertical banner design to be hung over a one-year period for Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Veterans Day. The same banner may be installed for a second year for $232.50.
As an ongoing program, orders will be accepted at any time. Banners may be purchased by individuals or organizations.
