On Friday, May 6, community members, friends and family gathered around in the beautiful Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Valencia as the new 2011 Santa Clarita Valley Man and Woman of the Year were announced.  Congratulations to Candy Spahr who was nominated by the American Cancer Society and Harry Bell, nominated by Rotary Club of Santa Clarita Valley as they were named Man and Woman of the Year.

Going All in For a Great Cause

Poker enthusiasts came out to support the wonderful women of Soroptimist International Santa Clarita Valley on Saturday, May 7.  The night began with delicious food provided by Marcos Catering and rockin’ music by Danny Diaz and Band.  Players enjoyed tournament Texas Hold’em as well as Blackjack throughout the night.  Prior to the official start of the Blackjack Tournament, dealers indulged players with a few rounds of “free” play.  Boy was that a hit!! ...
