Tee off for a good time and a great cause at this year’s Frontier Toyota/Henry Mayo Drive Safe Golf Classic, scheduled for Saturday, May 19 at the beautiful Valencia Country Club.  Players will enjoy an exciting day on the greens with contests, prizes, delicious food and drinks.
“I am very excited for the 39th anniversary of this event,” states co-chair Chris Luechtefeld.  “We have enjoyed wonderful support from our title sponsor Frontier Toyota, and from our host the Valencia Country Club. This event is the largest single fundraiser for the hospital each year, and the support from our sponsors, employees, and volunteers has helped to create a wonderful tournament and it has provided a lasting benefit for all residents of the SCV.”  
Don’t miss out on the much anticipated helicopter golf ball drop.  A helicopter will drop 1,800 golf balls on the golf course driving range.  If your pre-selected ticket number matches one of the 10 closest golf balls to land nearest the target hole, you will win $50,000.  Guaranteed first and second place closest to the target will win $2,000 and $500 (winner does not need to be present to win).  Tickets for the golf ball drop are available for purchase.  One ticket for $20, six tickets for $100, and 100 tickets for $1,000.
Last year’s event raised nearly $325,000 for our hospital’s emergency and trauma services.  Since its inception, the Golf Classic has raised more than $3 million to support the hospital.
After a day on the greens, get ready for more fun, as the event will culminate in an exciting evening under the tent with an awards program and auction.  This year’s theme is “Circus: Under the Big Top.”  Guests will enjoy a delicious dinner with a live and silent auction.  Proceeds from the Golf Classic will benefit the Emergency and Trauma Services at Henry Mayo Hospital.
