Hundreds gathered at Castaic Lake on Sunday, April 15, to have fun and get dirty at the Merrell Down & Dirty Mud and Obstacle Series.  Participants of all ages raced alongside local Military personnel, Public Safety Officers and Police Academy trainees, all while supporting troops through Operation Gratitude. The event included a 5K and 10K course, complete with military style obstacles, commanding cargo climbs, wild water crossings, and lots of mud.  Even the kids were able to participate in the 100-meter dash mud extravaganza, competing with one another in their respective age group.  “We all had a great time,” states Castaic resident Wende Killian. “Our kids had a blast.  We couldn’t believe how muddy they got!”  
The Down & Dirty Mud and Obstcle Series will continue in Miami, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Philadelphia, Detroit, New York, Atlanta and Sacramento over the next six months.  Visit www.downanddirtymudrun.com for more information.
