Co-chair Sheryl Geraci is looking forward to this year’s event.  “I can’t wait to bring a new and fun event to Santa Clarita.  The Wine Affair will mix wine, food and music along with raising money for breast cancer.  It will also bring the community to the Town Center to support our local businesses.  At the VIP event, Barrel Club sponsors will get to taste wines from local residents’ private selections.  Some of these wines are valued at over $200 a bottle!” Co-chairing the event along with Sheryl are Rose Chegwin, Tamra Levine, Jo Ann Vindigni and Darlene Gandara.

The Soroptimist International is a women’s service organization, established in 1921, to help improve the lives of women and girls. The Soroptimist International of the Greater Santa Clarita Valley was chartered in April of this year. Their mission: Women in Crisis, Women’s Health Issues and Celebrating Women.  “I look forward to debuting our new club, Soroptimist International of Greater Santa Clarita Valley, which has 67 local business women along with 14 Soroptimisters and distinguished friends,” said Rose Chegwin, marketing chair for the event. “This overwhelming number of new members proves that women want to give of themselves to help other women and girls become everything they can be.”

A portion of the Wine Affair’s proceeds will benefit the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Imaging Center at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital to help women who are unable to afford detection services.  “I’m delighted that the event will support our breast imaging center’s ability to provide screenings for those who are uninsured or underinsured,” said Diana Vose, president of the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation.

Come spend an enjoyable Sunday afternoon sipping fine wines while supporting a great cause.  Advance tickets will be available at $40, and available for purchase on the day of the event for $50.  Tickets will be sold at participating venues beginning in September, or may be purchased by sending a check to SIGSCV, Attention: Sheryl Geraci, P.O.
