We are pleased to feature the multi-award winning A Chorus Line on this month’s cover.  A Chorus Line is coming to the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at the College of the Canyons for only six exciting performances beginning February 28.  You won’t want to miss out on this celebration of the unsung heroes of the American Musical Theatre, the chorus dancers, as they became one of Broadway’s longest running shows and is currently on a revival tour.
Co-directors TimBen Boydston and Patti Finley have assembled a fine cast of outstanding performers for this stunning production, including local actress and dancer Denise Plummer, who is appearing through the courtesy of Actors Equity Association.

“We are looking forward to presenting a professional Broadway musical at a price that people can afford, which is important in these economic times,” states co-directors TimBen Boydston and Patti Finley. “We are also looking forward to allowing our audiences to escape, through the magic of live theatre, and to be entertained, uplifted, and enlightened by this wonderful piece.”

Starring in the role of Cassie, Denise has appeared as a member of the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes and on tour in Mame, Will Roger’s Follies, and Showboat, as well as in professional productions of Sugar Babies, Paint Your Wagon, Evita, and She Loves Me.
Featured as Val is Amber Bregmeier who has appeared in regional productions of Big the Musical, Fiddler on the Roof, Crazy for You, Annie Warbucks, and Will Rogers Follies.  The role of Zach, the director, is being played by Jarod Scott who, in addition to local appearances, has also been seen on film, in television and on stage in Los Angeles theaters.

Others in the cast include Rena Bailey-Barrett, Shanna Beauchamp, Nikki Berra, Shannon Bouknight, Melissa Joy Castro, Rebecca Coombs, Joshua DiPaola, Tim Kendall, Jill Kocalis, Ryan Massey, Spencer Moreno, Mark Nager, Charlie Nash, Christina Noland, Hebert Pabon, Joe Roselund, Jillann Tarara and ensemble members Caroline Amsler, Kimberly Andrade, Olivia Andrade, Olivia Jhaveri, Emily Kendall, Marissa Mayer, Ariella Roughton, Lauren Thurston and Hannah Vaughan.

A Chorus Line is being choreographed by Nancy Alterman who has appeared in the show on the International Tour as well as in Los Angeles.  She also performed in West Side Story and has choreographed over 20 musical productions.  Vocal director is Dr. Tamarah Ashton-Coombs and the live orchestra will be under the direction of Patricia Graham.
