“I’m afraid of change.”  It doesn’t seem so complicated when I type it on the screen.  It’s four words.  Simple.  Yet, I find that fear of the unknown scares more people than I can bet on.  For as long as I can remember, I, like many others, am a predictable creature of habit.

A Guy’s Take On Being Single in Santa Clarita - August 2012

A little while ago, while I was out shopping a very nice lady came up to me, and asked if I was the guy who wrote the singles column.  Of course I said yes, and then she said, “So you are the Luv Doctor.”  I laughed and said, “Of course I am.”  She seemed very nice, so I asked if she would like to go on a date with me.

Wonderettes is Marvelous!

The Marvelous Wonderettes is a delightfully refreshing musical comedy set in the 1950s and 60s, filled with the classic songs of that era (think forever plaid, set 10 years later and with girls)!  The show opens at the 1958 Springfield High School prom with the lights coming up on the evening’s special entertainment: The Marvelous Wonderettes.  These four best friends (Betty Jean, played by Marie Wise-Hawkins; Cindy Lou, played by Catherine Birdsong; Missy, played by Courtney Potter; and Suzy, played by Sarah Lang) sing popular songs from the 1950s, including Sugartime, Mr. Sandman, Lollipop, and Dream Lover.

SISCV Installs 2012-2013 Board of Directors

Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley held its new officer installation on June 20 at the Tournament Players Club in Valencia.  Guests including club members, Soroptimist notables and local dignitaries witnessed the swearing in of the club’s new Board of Directors.  Cyndi Diaz, the newly installed club President chose her year’s theme as “Serving Together in Perfect Harmony.”

Doing Her Best! Chelsea Best receives the Girl Scout Gold Award

Chelsea Best received her Girl Scout Gold Award on Saturday, June 30 at the annual ceremony in Pasadena.  Her Gold Award project was titled “Beau-Tea-Ful Me.”

Reminiscing about childhood memories, the thought of going to a dress-up tea party lingered.  Chelsea spoke with her mom about what fun that was and realized that not every little girl gets to experience such a fun day.  This idea sparked her future Girl Scout Gold Award project.
