May is Foster Parent Appreciation Month!

Foster Parent Appreciation Month in May provides a wonderful opportunity to honor and recognize the work of people making a difference in the lives of children in foster care.  It’s also a time to bring awareness to the great need for resource families to open their homes for fostering and/or adoption to these vulnerable children, especially older children and sibling sets of brothers and sisters who wish to remain together.

Spring – A Time for Renewal

Recently I woke up to 11 baby ducks and a very protective mother in my swimming pool! 
I had been aware of the male and female ducks “hanging around the pool” for a couple of weeks – I had even looked for a nest in the bushes!  Imagine my surprise when I saw all of them in the pool – and my three dogs barking at them!
