Now is the time to take control of your life and become a happier, healthier you. A big part of being healthy is maintaining a healthy weight and eating clean. So I had a big wake-up call, when I calculated my BMI, Body Mass Index and saw that I was overweight. BMI is a measure that helps you see whether your weight is at a healthy weight, unhealthy or obese weight. Being overweight or obese puts us at risk for a variety of illnesses including coronary heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, sleep apnea, infertility, gynecological problems, gallstones, osteoarthritis, as well as endometrial, breast, prostate and colon cancers. Obesity is also associated with an earlier death.
