Turn on the TV or flip a page in a magazine and you’re sure to see the latest potion or gadget that promises to give you the body of your dreams – in just days, minutes or even seconds.  Yeah, right!  If all these fast tricks to weight loss worked - wouldn’t everyone be walking around extremely thin and having the body of their dreams overnight or in just minutes?

Do Push Ups to Build Muscle Mass and Boost Metabolism

Calisthenics, like pull-ups and pushups, are commonly avoided because they can be extremely painful. Because strength training exercises are typically anaerobic, with few exceptions, the body produces a high amount of lactic acid, thus causing a burning sensation in the muscles. Coupled with physical and mental exhaustion, an abundance of lactic acid can persuade even the hardest of athletes to give it a rest. Remember that your body will prevail, as long as you maintain your mental strength.

It has been said in the past that the average person gains seven to 10 pounds over the holidays.  Now that Santa has been gone for a month, have you checked the scale lately?  Well, luckily that is a myth, but there is good news and bad news.

The good news is that the most recent research suggests that the average person only gains one to two pounds over the holidays.  And most of you probably fall into this category, right?  Your pants are still fitting…but just a little snug...but they still fit?

Fall in Love with Your Workout

“Oh my gosh…that was so much fun!  I run every day and I never swear so much…and I didn’t even feel like I was working out!” said one of my new members after taking her first dance fitness class.  That is exactly what I want to hear from the ladies trying any one of our amazing classes.  I love seeing their excitement venturing into a new class and then seeing their smiling, sweaty faces as they leave the studio.
