Mark your calendar for April 19th when you can rally for the 2007 Relay for Life at the kick-off event to be held at the Valencia Spectrum Club.  The Relay for Life is a 24-hour trek where walkers take turns circling a Santa Clarita track raising money for the American Caner Society (ACS).

Funds raised are used for research, education and cancer program services.  The rally will be held at the Spectrum Club, 24525 Town Center Drive, Valencia from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. where teams comprised of friends, family members and local businesses will gather to celebrate cancer survivorship and remember those who have passed away to cancer.  Their theme of hope for the event is “Mission Possible” which of course applies to the hopes that research will lead to a cure for the disease.

Last year, 85 teams walked and raised $445,000.  This year’s goal is half a million.  The rally will be held on June 2 and 3 at Central Park in Santa Clarita.
