Last May, I was having breakfast with some friends, when the topic of exercise came up.  I mentioned I’d seen the ad for Goddess Fitness and one of my friends said, “That place, I don’t know what they do in there, but they close the drapes and they come out sweating.”

 

Still intrigued, I stopped at Goddess Fitness to find out more.  Melissa, the belly dance teacher, was working in reception and suggested I try my first class.  I was a little apprehensive being that I’m a 40ish, overweight mother of two who was not exactly proud of my shape.  I shared my fears with Melissa and she assured me I’d be fine.  So I signed up for my first Introductory Goddess Diva Class.

That first class was a workout but so much fun.  It was an hour-and-a-half but the time flew by.  The lights are low, the music is up and everyone is so supportive and encouraging.  I signed up for the Unlimited Plan that day.

All my life I have struggled with my weight.  I have always exercised in some way; swimming, aerobics, gyms and more but I didn’t enjoy any of it. I wanted to, but I always looked upon it as a chore. I wanted to be one of those people who exercised because they wanted to, not because they had to. But now with Goddess Fitness I make the time to exercise because I want to.  I get that exercise high I was always looking for. I mix it up and take different classes each day; I love the variety of all the different classes.  I have even dragged my husband to Couples Yoga (he thought I was trying to kill him).  My body is changing, inches are disappearing, people are noticing and I feel better spiritually.  So now I can say, for the first time in my life, I love to exercise.
