Whoever thought that a walk around a lake could be so beneficial to you and to others? Circle of Hope’s 4th annual Walk of Hope is just that. The funds raised from this celebration go directly to helping individuals in the Santa Clarita Valley pay for their Breast Cancer treatments.
Gather your friends, neighbors, co-workers and dogs to walk around Castaic Lake on Saturday, April 19 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Last year more than 70 registered dogs, sporting their pink bandanas, stole the show!
This non-competitive walk will allow you to stroll and enjoy the beauty of Castaic Lake and then enjoy a delicious BBQ, live music and the People’s Choice car show. You can participate in the car show by voting for your favorite car. Every registered walker will get one vote, but you can purchase more to ensure that your favorite wins.
The walk will also showcase this year’s Warrior Princess Court. These princesses chosen for their determination and survival will be able to share their stories and inspire you.
All this walking and voting is sure to make you pretty hungry, so the Friends of Castaic Lake are cooking up some great barbecue for you to enjoy while you listen to some top 40 hits and rhythm and blues performed by “The Company Band”.
Vendors will be on-site handing out some useful information and goodies as well.
The mission of Circle of Hope, Inc. is to financially and emotionally assist uninsured and underinsured individuals with breast cancer who live, work or receive treatment in the Santa Clarita Valley. The organization believes that providing financial and emotional support will improve the quality of life and increase the individual’s chances of success in their battle against breast cancer.
Just about every person in Santa Clarita has been touched by cancer in one way or another. Whether you walk for yourself, for a friend or loved one or in memory of someone you once knew, just get out there and walk for the joy of life.
