Circle of Hope Executive Director Announces Retirement as of July
The Circle of Hope, Inc. Board of Directors has regretfully accepted the resignation of Executive Director Ray Tippet. As of July 1, Tippet will consider himself retired and plans to spend his newfound time with family and friends, as well as traveling.
Ray joined the now 12-year-old non-profit when hired by the board in 2010. Tasks set before him included new branding for, growing awareness of and finding new sources of ongoing revenue for the organization, which provides educational, emotional and financial support for those under- and uninsured individuals diagnosed with cancer in the SCV. Tippet accomplished these goals and more.
“This has been one of the most difficult decisions I have ever made; I will miss working closely with our clients and being a part of their journey,” expressed Tippet. “This organization has tremendous importance to the Santa Clarita Valley and the community we serve, and it has been an honor to be a part of this incredible group. I have met so many wonderful people during my time at COH, and I cannot thank our supporters enough for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those diagnosed with cancer.”
Credited with streamlining Circle of Hope’s Patient Advocacy program, Ray is also lauded for his tireless efforts to make their popular Vine2Wine Classic community fundraiser a premier Santa Clarita event.
Tippet will retire in June but plans to continue to support the organization as a consultant in aiding the Circle of Hope in a smooth transition.
“Circle of Hope, Inc., its Board of Directors, advisors, clients and supporters are very grateful for the leadership, commitment, inspiration and generosity Ray and his family have shown them,” said Pam Ripling, current Governing Board President. “He will be difficult to replace.”
The Board of Directors is currently evaluating leadership needs for the non-profit and will be looking for candidates that will further Ray’s exemplary groundwork and efforts. As Ray has demonstrated through his dedicated leadership, the chosen candidate will be thoroughly committed to Circle of Hope’s mission. All candidates should have proven leadership, interpersonal skills and relationship management experience, as well as possess the highest levels of integrity and compassion. Knowledge and an understanding of the nonprofit sector are desired, especially within the local health and cancer care community. More detailed requirements and information on how to apply will appear on Circle of Hope’s website soon.
