Circle of Hope Announces New Governing Board
The Circle of Hope Board of Directors is happy to introduce their new governing board. The 13-year-old nonprofit held their Installation Ceremony on June 8 at Wolf Creek Restaurant. New to the executive committee is Kathy Rutherford, 2nd Vice President; Alexander Hafizi, 1st Vice President; and Caren Kahan, Treasurer. Former VP Taylor Kellstrom begins his two-year term and President, and Pam Ripling will assume the duties of Past President. Ripling also serves the board as Executive Director.
As 2nd Vice President, Kathy Rutherford will back up both the President and 1st V.P., and take the role of a Community Liaison. Kathy joined Circle of Hope in June of 2009, and will chair the Afternoon Tea on October 7. She also serves on the Vine2Wine committee.
Caren Kahan is no stranger to number crunching and looks forward to assuming the responsibilities of Treasurer. Caren has been with Circle of Hope since January of 2015, and has since taken on a variety of tasks for the nonprofit, including both the Afternoon Tea and liaison for PedalFest Mountain Bike Racing.
Already the social media director for Circle of Hope, Alexander Hafizi will take on the job of 1st Vice President in July. Alexander maintains all social media for the nonprofit, prepares and oversees promotional materials and acts as liaison with media and graphic arts entities. As co-chair for the Vine2Wine event, Alex has his hands full.
After two years as Vice President, Taylor Kellstrom will move into the top spot as governing board president. Board members considered his dedication, his work ethic, his powerful and positive influence when voting him in. Taylor brings his experience as a SCV business owner to the table, along with a deep compassion for the cause.
Circle of Hope wishes to thank Jill Bondy, Janice Murray and Pamela Braly for their service to the Executive Board over the past year(s). The new board assignments go into effect on July 1, 2017.
