News from the Santa Clarita Veteran Services Collaborative Veteran Center Hours Expanded and Benefit Assistance Available!
Coming on the heels of an amazing grand opening, where the crowd attendance approached 200, all listening to words by Congressman Steve Knight, Assemblyman Dante Acosta, and City Council Members Bob Keller and Marsha McLean, the Collaborative now announces that arrangements have been made to begin assisting Veterans with help in obtaining government benefits to which they are entitled. The Center will now be open on the first, second and third Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in order to facilitate weekenders, and plans are also underway to expand those benefit assistance days to weekdays.
Want to have a meeting or a party during evenings or weekends? This is the place to reserve.
To all Veterans, there’s now a local destination where the primary mission is to be of complete service. The library keeps getting bigger. The Food Pantry is now accessible daily, the piano is in tune, and thanks to the College of the Canyons and its Vice President Jerry Buckley, all of the donated computers are ready for use by anyone wishing to use them. Of course, we have Wi-Fi, and as of the beginning of March our television set is up and running.
Our local “Warrior’s Wall” keeps expanding as Bill Reynolds writes new biographies, so why not drop in and take a look at your story if you’ve been interviewed by the Signal Newspaper.
This is now truly a one-stop shopping experience for Veterans and their families who need the variety of services which are supplied by our vast number of members.
We’re are located at 23222 Lyons Avenue in Newhall, for more information please visit our website, www.scv-vets.org.
