Operation Gratitude SCV Business Marketing Group Supports Local Veterans & First Responders

by | Mar 29, 2018 | Community

May 10th marks the date of the Annual Charity Wine Tasting Event benefiting Operation Gratitude. An event that began with the SCV Business Marketing Group, a group of business executives in the Santa Clarita area, who wanted to network and bring together other business executives for a good cause.
“Since 2016, we have been able to host events and benefit local non-profits successfully. And this one just erupted into the community.” Stated Maggie-Mae Laufman, the founder and leader of the SCV Business Marketing Group, and the Marketing Director of Applied Resource Insurance Solutions. “I am a military wife, so this event is very important to me.” The event, held annually in May, benefits Operation Gratitude, a non-profit that sends care packages overseas to deployed troops and first responders, as well as care packages to our veterans and caretakers at home. “Because of this event, we are able to raise thousands of dollars every year for Operation Gratitude as well as bring awareness of the program to our local community,” stated Laufman.
Senator Scott Wilk, Assemblymen Dante Acosta, and LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger’s offices are attending and presenting awards to 10 local heroes, who have served not only the city of Santa Clarita, but our country. Nominated by the community, 10 local heroes receive awards showcasing their service, their community involvement, and their character. “To see a community bond over this patriotic event, it gives you chills. It’s something that we never thought we would see, but it’s a beautiful thing.” Stated President of Applied Resource Insurance Solutions, Bryan Hummitzsch, another founder of the SCV Business Marketing Group.
The Santa Clarita Valley Business Marketing Group raised thousands last year for Operation Gratitude, and had donations from over 100 local businesses. “All in all, it was a success. We just placed smiles on hundreds of active-duty servicemen overseas, and it’s a privilege and an honor to pay our respects this way.” Stated Maggie-Mae Laufman on the success of the event.
The local heroes being nominated this year are Thomas J. Martin, Richard Ramsey, Donald Mackenzie, Tchicaya Missamou, Keith Smith, Anthony Alba, Christopher Stuckey, Pamela Ross, Josie Sandi, and James Allison.
