Celebrating Dads

by | May 27, 2018 | Uncategorized

We are half way through the year, it’s time to soak up the summer sun, enjoy the time off and celebrate Dad on Sunday, June 17. Help us highlight these wonderful men, who are celebrated and loved by their families so much they sent in photos and shared a little bit about these great guys!
The McNey ladies sent in a lovely photo of dad Jeff McNey and shared, “We have the best dad because he sings us songs and tells funny jokes.  He makes us laugh and we like dancing with him.  He gives the best squeeze monsters!” – Morgan & Ashlyn McNey
I would like to nominate my dad, A.J. Wedding for the photo contest. My Dad is strong like Iron Man and so funny. He loves our family, “family hugs”, making movies, playing with me and working out with me and going on family vacations. I love him past the Jedi temple and all the way back to his heart. – Lexie (six years old)
Our next submission is of Vinai Manikonda and daughter, Anagha Stothra Manikonda. Luckily her mommy was able to share her words with us (in Anagha’s words): Daddy gives me surprises; Daddy takes me to the pond to feed the ducks; Daddy takes me out for a walk; Daddy plays with me… He is my best friend!
Our next entry came from resident Robert L. Plunkett (Jr.), who is pictured with his son Robert L. (Bobby) Plunkett (III) at similar ages. Robert shared: The black and white photo is me, Robert, and the color is Bobby, my son.  Bobby is autistic and only says single words or sentences that he has been taught, adding a relevant word to them, like, “Daddy is fun.”.  He’s very active, everybody likes him, he’s good at math and can sing the lyrics to hundreds or thousands of songs.
“This is a picture of my son, Danny Csiszar, with his two kids Asher and Robbi. I am so proud of how Danny has stepped up into the role of being a dad by showing his kids the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Through participating in Spartan Races (his six-year-old daughter has completed three), becoming a personal trainer, and now opening his own gym, he has shown his kids that being healthy is a part of their everyday lives. He even volunteers at Robbi’s school with their Runner’s Club program. Danny inspires his kids, and others, by being a healthy, fit, role model and daddy.” – Tina Csiszar (proud mom and grandma)
Alexandria Grable shared her admiration for her dad Larry by sharing, “This is our dad, Larry Grable! He is hands down the best dad ever! He moved our family from Oklahoma to Los Angeles so that my brother, Zander and I could follow our dreams! He even talked our mom into opening a 9Round Kickboxing gym! Yay, he pretty much rocks! Thanks Dad!
