Wine on the Roof Making History
Wine on the Roof may be in our rear view mirror now but will long be a part of the Santa Clarita conversation. The event was a great success, and another sold out experience presented by the WiSH Education Foundation. Co-hosted by WiSH, Eve Bushman of Eve’s Wine 101, Marlee Lauffer, President of the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation, and Steve Lemley, a well-respected SCV winemaker that co-owns SCV Custom Crush Services, this first-time event was incredibly well received. Guests were treated to ten food courses plus wines that were curated specifically for the evening. Held under the stars at Westfield Valencia Town Center in a garden party setting that was truly magical, it included live music by Lance Allyn and festive lighting and décor.
Making the festivities even more unique, winemakers were seated throughout the venue to allow for knowledgeable discourse and chefs came out as each course was served to present their creation. In addition, Honu Coffee’s brewmaster was on hand to serve their signature coldbrew and regular coffees to go with dessert. With meat, vegetarian and pescatarian options, there were courses for everyone and no one left hungry or thirsty – or without feeling like they were part of something very special.
These events can’t happen without the participation of incredibly generous restaurants and this one was no different. Many thanks to the soon to open Newhall restaurant Old Town Junction, Speakeasy Bakery, Newhall Press Room, Hundred Miles, Olive Terrace Bar and Grill, Bonefish Grill, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Sweet Beams Ice Cream, Salt Creek Grille, Wolf Creek Restaurant and Honu Coffee. All the food was paired with wines from winemakers exclusive to Pulchella Winery. Santa Clarita winemakers included Steve Lemley, Nate Hasper, Adam Hasper, Mark Blatty, Scott Page-Pagter, and Douglas Minnick.
Special thank you to Westfield Valencia Town Center, Lundgren Mgt., Peterson Printing, Via Promotionals, The Magazine of Santa Clarita, élite Magazine, Andy Gump, CCU, 24/7, SOS Entertainment, Fagen, Friedman & Fulfrost, Brightview Tree Company, The Signal, KHTS and SCVTV.
Don’t miss another amazing event – the 20th annual Tribute Concert is all about Tom Petty on June 30, the annual Burrito Bowl is coming back on August 14 and Cocktails on the Roof is happening on September 7.
