Choosing the right limo service can be daunting. With so many companies and cars to choose from, how do you pick the right one? The key is always to do your homework. Below are five tips to select the best limo service for your needs.
1. Check references and reviews
Review sites like the Better Business Bureau, Angie’s List, and Yelp offer detailed insights about companies from other customers. Their feedback may give you an idea of the type of service you can expect.
2. Verify proof of insurance
Professional limo operators would have no problem with providing you proof of their insurance. In particular, you should verify that the company holds Automobile Liability coverage and General Liability coverage.
3. Check their fleet
Limo companies offer an abundance of choices: limos, limo buses, shuttle buses, and Mercedes sprinters. Find out how and how often a company maintains their vehicles and updates their fleets. And, if you’re booking transportation for a major event, like a wedding or prom, take the time to see the vehicle you’re reserving in person.
4. Verify the professionalism of chauffeurs
Choose to work with a limo company that places high value on the professionalism and experience of their chauffeurs. Check to see what the chauffeur hiring process is like and if the company performs proper background checks and extensive training.
5. Confirm compliance
Make sure that the company has valid certifications and complies with all federal, state, and local requirements. Ask for the TCP number of the vehicle and confirm the number corresponds when your driver arrives. You can check their certification at https://apps.cpuc.ca.gov.
Local business owner Brandan Stein of Exclusive Sedan Service offers the following advice, “A great way to ensure the safety and service quality of a limo company is to see if they follow Duty of Care practices, which is something that few operators fail to adhere to. A company’s compliance with Duty of Care means that they follow strict, high-level guidelines for safety, security, and service. If an operator upholds Duty of Care standards, you should be able to find a statement of their commitment to it on their website.”
Exclusive Sedan Service, originally Exclusive Limousine Service, was started by Brandan’s parents, Ron and Jackie in 1980. By 1983, Exclusive Limousine Service was expanding so quickly in services that the company changed their name to Exclusive Sedan Service. Brandan came on board in 1998 and was promoted to vice-president of operations in 2005. Today, Exclusive Sedan Service includes a broader range of vehicles and transportation options and is able to provide first-rate service to handle the transportation needs of clients in over 750 cities worldwide. You may learn more at www.exclusivesedan.com. Exclusive Sedan Service is also a big supporter of the Ride Responsibly™ campaign. Established in 2015 by the National Limousine Association, Ride Responsibly seeks to enlighten and inform the public in an effort to ensure safer ground transportation, as well as corporate responsibility for the rights and well-being of private ground transportation drivers. The campaign bridges an industry-wide gap between the rights of passengers and drivers and the responsibility of service providers. Ride Responsibly encourages you to Think Before You App®.
