Santa Clarita Elks Lodge Holds Charity Roast To Benefit Veterans and Children with Disabilities

by | Jan 31, 2019 | Community

The Santa Clarita Elks Lodge invites the community to attend a fun, entertaining evening to witness local Veteran Services Leader, William ‘Bill’ Reynolds, take center stage to be Roasted by his former friends – Elks CHEA Trustee Jay Larkins, City of Santa Clarita City Manager Ken Striplin, Iraq War Veteran Mike Garcia, and Jim Hackett, Veteran and Purple Heart Awardee.
City Councilman and Lodge Member Bob Kellar will be the emcee of this fundraising event that will benefit local veterans services in the Santa Clarita Valley, and also children with disabilities through the California-Hawaii Elks Major Project, Inc. www.chea-elks.org.
The Roasters have been gearing up to present their humorous fabrications on the life and accomplishments of our own ‘Hometown Hero’ Bill Reynolds. Bill is devoted to his wife, two children, and five grandchildren. He is the Director of Veteran Affairs at KHTS-AM.1220. FM.98.1.
He has been involved in numerous local veterans’ outreach, service programs, and organizations in Santa Clarita, including the Santa Clarita Elks Lodge. American Legion, Vietnam Veterans of America, Mobile Riverine Force Association, The Fallen Warriors Memorial at the Newhall Veterans Historical Plaza, Santa Clarita Veterans Day Committee, The Veterans Collaborative, and more.
Bill will show his support for the Roasters by laughing, clapping, and reacting to their jokes. However, under his calm and cool persona, he will be plotting his rebuttal strategy. Join us on Saturday, February 16 for this dinner, video, roast, and live auction – all for veterans and children with disabilities.
The program will include:
6 p.m. – Social Hour
7 p.m. – Dinner and Video
8 p.m. – Roast
9 p.m. – Live Auction
Tickets are $50 and may be purchased through the Elks Office or the Elks Lodge Lounge, at 17766 Sierra Highway in Santa Clarita or by calling 661-251-1500 or 661-251-1520. Tables of 10 are available for $500. Please make checks payable to the Santa Clarita Elks Lodge 2379.
