The Heart and Soul of Rainbow Ridge Ranch
Coming up the dirt road to Rainbow Ridge Ranch brings back some of the most miraculous memories of my life. I’ve known Kathy since I was 8 and I’m 16 now. I’ve had experiences here that have changed my life and shaped me into the person I am today. This place is full of firsts for me, and it’s probably the only place I will experience magic I’ve seen here. Some of the people here that I might only see four times a year if I’m lucky but they are my best friends. While other kids are vacationing at the river or the beach, we’re here riding horses, and having the best times of are lives. Kathy is an amazing person and one of the few people I really respect. When you come here and you see the artwork and pictures from kids, friends, and family members, you really see what it would look like to have 10 families combined into one. From the minute you walk on to the property, it doesn’t matter if you really are family or just came here to ride, at the end of the day you’ll feel like you belong here.
I have seen kids screaming, and scared of the horses, but, by the time they leave, Kathy has them smiling, and kissing horses. She’s taken this place to a whole new level. She’s dealt with fires, and other things, yet she manages to still bring it all back together with a smile on her face. Kathy and Rainbow Ridge make me feel like my problems are nonexistent; she helps me work through my problems. She works so hard and does things that I could never have dreamed of succeeding in. She’s this little lady with heroic strength and a golden heart and you can see it in her property. I’ve gone from riddng the most trained beginner horses here to an Arabian with no brakes and now I bring down my little four-year-old and ride on some of the most spectacular trails I’ve seen. And although the horses and the girls might change, some things will always stay the same that’s the heart and soul behind this place. That’s how Kathy’s built this place up from nothing and made it a rainbow on a ridge.
