Hormone Pellet Implants For Menopause & Andropause

by | Feb 26, 2019 | Medical

As we age, hormone levels will decline. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is the replacement of hormones in menopausal women and andropausal men. Pellets are the best and most effective delivery of hormone. They act the same as the body’s own natural even delivery. You will receive hormone doses specifically for you, in a doseage form that fits your body and your lifestyle.
Symptoms of menopause include: hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, weight gain, headaches, low libido, fatigue/loss of energy, decreased memory, mood swings, vaginal dryness, depression or anxiety.
Symptoms of andropause include: fatigue, depression, Osteoporosis, insomnia, decreased libido, decreased muscle mass, erectile dysfunction, decreased memory, irritability, heart disease, prostate problems, decreased cognitive function.
What are pellet implants?
Hormone pellets are surgically implanted into the patient for HRT. The pellets are tiny cylinders that are inserted into a numbed area of subcutaneous fat, typically in the hip or the abdomen. This dosage form is very physiologic in that it closely mimics how your body releases hormones. The pellets can last three to six months depending on the patient.
Pellets can be made using estradiol or testosterone. Dosage is determined by your physician based on lab results, medical history and reported symptoms.
From puberty until menopause, our hormones predictably fluctuate every month and we sometimes experience those cramps, mood swings, nausea, and all those common side effects of our menstrual cycle. So, what’s the difference with menopause?
Simply put, we’re experiencing a much stronger, dramatic shift of hormones than ever before…that’s what menopause can create symptoms similar to PMS (Pre-Menstrual Syndrome) but much stronger and more intense.
This is primarily due to a much lower production of the sex hormones estrogen and progesterone. If you’re wondering how hormones can cause such dramatic changes, keep in mind: estrogen plays a role in almost every major part of the body; our heart, skin, hair, bones, breasts and brain are all influenced by estrogen to some degree.
According to the Mayo Clinic, the transition to menopause can bring about the following symptoms: irregular periods, vaginal dryness, hot flashes, chills, night sweats or migraine headache.
