Submit Your Poems for the Arts Run Poetry Contest The 2nd annual Arts Run, hosted by Arts for Santa Clarita, is on April 27
In an effort to unite all types of artists and art enthusiasts in the Santa Clarita Valley, Arts for Santa Clarita is incorporating a poetry contest into this year’s Arts Run!
All styles of poems are welcomed. A selection of submitted poems will be displayed on the marathon course, to allow runners (and walkers) the opportunity to read the written words as they move along the course.
Interested applicants may submit poems to: info@artsforsantaclarita.org. There will be stipend awards for first place ($150), second place ($100) and third place ($50). Winning poems will be featured at the Arts Run and on social media. Please make all email submissions by Friday, April 5th, 2019.
This year’s Santa Clarita Arts Run will be held on Saturday, April 27th, 2019. Please visit www.scvartsrun.org to register for the run or sign up to sponsor the run. Artists interested in having a booth or performing at the run may send an email to: info@artsforsantaclarita.org. There is no exhibit fee charged to non-profit arts organizations.
Arts for Santa Clarita, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, hosted the inaugural Santa Clarita Arts Run last April. Over 300 hundred registrants participated in the marathon and over 20 art groups performed along the course of the run. This year Arts for Santa Clarita is expecting over 500 participants and over 30 arts groups in attendance. The Run will also include a Kids’ Dash which is recommended for kids over the age of 3 and will include art obstacles along the half kilometer kids’ course. Proceeds from the run will benefit Arts for Santa Clarita. The Arts for Santa Clarita mission is to enrich the Santa Clarita community through the development and facilitation of arts programing, facilities, education, support, and advocacy.
