Easter Care Packages for Hometown Troops
Our community will be gathering to make Easter cards and prepare special care packages for local troops overseas. Newhall Church of the Nazarene will partner again with Prayer Angels for the Military to host the annual event – Operation Forget Me Not. A free event, for all ages, to be held on Saturday, April 6, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church gym at 23857 The Old Road, Newhall, CA 91321. Our service men & women are always in our hearts, and we let them know.
Card making tables will be set up, for everyone to come and go between event hours. Sign up to volunteer with Prayer Angels for the Military at the numbers listed below.
Bring a donation, if you can. Most needed items are: Individually wrapped snacks – granola bars, trail mix, cookies, Jerky, crackers, peanut butter, jelly or jam (no glass jars), fruit snacks, Top Ramen (not cup-o-soups), oatmeal, hot cocoa, and drink packets for water bottles. Easter treats and goodies would be great (be sure expiration dates are more than two weeks away). Pop-top cans of fruit and meals like chili and hearty soups, tuna kits as well as specialty ground coffee like Starbucks would be great, 3-4 blade razors, deodorant, body wash, unscented baby wipes, soft toilet paper (like Angel Soft or Charmin), thick cotton crew socks (black or white), Sudoku, crosswords, and games. Tax-deductible postage funds are also badly needed.
Easter Care Baskets for Veterans
Special baskets will be prepared to help out a few of our hometown veterans in need. It would be a blessing to include a gift card or two and let them know they are not forgotten.
Donation bin is available 24/7 at the Prayer Angel main address: 21609 Oak Orchard Rd, Newhall, CA 91321. Funds can be mailed to this address, or donate online through PayPal at: www.prayerangelsforthemilitary.com.
