Dedication to Serving the Community Assistance League
Assistance League has truly embodied compassion and dedication to service. For many years they have acted as a friend to people in need. The resale location on Main Street is the organization’s primary fundraiser that supports all of the philanthropic programs in the Santa Clarita Valley. This location welcomes and accepts gently used items during operating hours. All donations are sorted, priced and sold.
There are no paid employees. Members and volunteers help manage and staff the store so that all the money raised help Assistance League continue their mission to develop and implement programs to make a difference in the lives of families in our community. Every week there are sale items and customers rave about the reasonable prices.
For the community at large: when you donate, shop, or become a member/volunteer you are making our community a better place with the various programs Assistance League offers throughout the year.
Have you heard of Operation School Bell®? This program takes place in Assistance League chapters across the nation each year as school is starting. Research has shown that children perform better in class, and bullying is minimized if a child’s self-image is enhanced with new clothes for school. Another aspect of Operation School Bell is icare for Kids. A child with poor vision is not able to perform well in class. icare for Kids pays for eye examinations and eyeglasses for children giving them clear vision, many for the first time. We could not do this without you and Walmart in Canyon Country. New clothes, shoes and eyeglasses bring happy smiles, along with words of appreciation from the children and their parents.
All donations and shopping are appreciated. Because of the generosity of our community, Assistance League Resale can continue with our mission. For that we sincerely thank you.
