The Link Between Diet, Disease and Chronic Inflammation
In the last few decades there has been a massive surge of chronic diseases caused by inflammation affecting modern society. With the convenience of processed foods combined with a more sedentary lifestyle and increased stress, the incidence of obesity, metabolic syndrome and type II diabetes has become quite an epidemic. Like many Americans I also find it difficult to eat a perfectly “clean” whole foods diet. One of the key things I find that benefits me is paying close attention to what I buy and consume on a daily basis. When I shop I try to include more whole foods such as a variety of fruits and vegetables that contain the antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that protect the body from inflammation. I try to avoid sugary and processed foods that promote inflammation in the body. Along with a healthy diet, finding ways to manage your stress and implementing a daily exercise routine that includes both aerobic and resistance exercise can help protect against weight gain and inflammation. In a nutshell, your lifestyle can greatly affect how you look and feel so finding effective ways to improve your health can be conducive to reducing chronic inflammation. Our goal at Survival of the Fittest is to work with our clients to create healthy and sustainable lifestyle changes through fun and challenging workouts and dietary guidance. All with the intention of reducing chronic inflammation which lessens the possibility of them dealing with chronic disease later on down the road. If you want to look and feel your best then it all begins with a lifestyle that is conducive to reducing chronic inflammation!
You can expect Survival of The Fittest Health and Wellness to go above and beyond to help you reach your goals in 2019.
