Circle of Hope’s Hoedown For Hope –A BBQ Competition
On September 14, Circle of Hope will be hosting Hoedown for Hope, an event that features family fun, live music, dancing, BBQ and pie competition, and will include a Silent Auction. The event will be hosted at Back Porch Music and anticipates approximately 200 guests at this event. This year’s Chairs are Alexander Hafizi, Rebecca DeLuca, and Caren Kahan. “We three have the same vision of making this fun for the whole family. We are looking for more sponsors, and more community members to help raise awareness for this beautiful organization,” states Caren Kahan. “A huge thank you to Nola Aronson from SCV Advanced Audiology for being our title sponsor, “says Alexander Hafizi.
Grill Masters are welcomed to compete for grand prizes: First place will get $1,000; Second place will get $500 and Third place will get $250.
All who wish to compete as a Grill Master must pay $50 to Circle of Hope to enter.
After that you have your choice of meat (i.e. chicken, beef, pork, etc.). All contestants MUST bring their own meat, grill/smoker and make sure there is enough for 200 tastes and three judges. Meat must be cooked on site. However, you can marinate the meat ahead of time. Competitors can come to the site at 9a.m. but all meat must be ready by 4p.m.
One 6-foot table and two chairs will be provided by COH. You can have one other helper. If you need more it must be approved by co-chairs. Remember this is a charity event so have fun.
Not a griller? Why not make two pies for the pie competition. It’s only $20 to enter two pies for the chance to be crowned the ultimate pie maker. You can make the pies ahead of time and bring them to the event.
We hope you will join us for this new and exciting fundraiser.
Tickets are $70 for VIP, $40 for General Admission, $10 for kids (three to 12 years old) and can be purchased on the website. Tickets will go up $10 at the door so get your tickets now.
