Dr. James A. Burks, Jr, MD, FACS, specializes in the treatment of vascular diseases including abdominal aortic aneurysms, carotid artery blockages and varicose veins. He has a special interest in preventing amputation of the legs and feet using minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of blocked leg arteries. He is married and is the proud father of two teenagers.
Dr. Burks is Board Certified in Vascular Surgery at American Board of Surgery. He did his Residency in Surgery at New York / Presbyterian Hospital at the Columbia University Campus in New York. His fellowship in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery has at Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York.
Valley Vascular Associates specializes in helping patients with diabetic leg pain, discomfort when walking, venous disease, varicose veins, and aortic aneurysm repair. Many of the patients who come to us first notice a new feeling in their legs, and think it is related to old age or being out of shape. Patients find it interesting to know that their pain may not be related to any of these things. If this sounds like you, a quick 30-minute scan with an ultrasound, could determine if limited circulation or a blockage could be the cause of the discomfort you are feeling. If you are worried that treatment is going to require a major surgery with long recovery times, don’t be! We offer minimally invasive non-surgical outpatient options to increase blood flow within the arteries in the legs. As the community we serve grows, Valley Vascular Associates looks forward to taking care of you and your loved ones, with top notch care. Our offices are conveniently located in Santa Clarita, Van Nuys, Tarzana, Burbank and soon to be, Antelope Valley.
