It’s a Hit – Canyon Theatre Guild
You do not want to miss the Canyon Theatre Guild’s presentation of The Andrews Brothers!
Mistaken identities, madcap humor, and some of the greatest songs of the 1940s fill this hilarious musical comedy. It’s 1945 in the South Pacific, and The Andrews Sisters are scheduled to headline the big USO show, but when illness quarantines the girls and they fail to arrive at the big gig, three soldiers find themselves giving the performance of a lifetime! Songs include “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “Slow Boat to China,” “Shoo Shoo Baby,” and “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree.” The Andrews Brothers is complete with slapstick comedy, old-fashioned romance, and nostalgic music.
Ticket prices are $17 for Military (Active or those who have served), $19 for Juniors and Seniors, and $22 for Adults. Reservations may be made online at Canyontheatre.org or by phone at the box office, 661-799-2702.
Opening September 27 and 28 include:
Peter and the Starcatcher
Accompanied by live music on stage, Peter and the Starcatcher is the story of Peter Pan and his friends and their magical adventure that takes Peter from a mundane orphan boy from England to an immortal flying boy on the magical island of Never Land. From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair… and the bonds of friendship, duty and love.
Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery
Get your deerstalker cap on — the play’s afoot! From the award-winning mastermind of mayhem, Ken Ludwig (Lend Me a Tenor), comes a fast-paced comedy about everyone’s favorite detective solving his most notorious case. Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson must crack the mystery of “The Hound of the Baskervilles” before a family curse dooms its newest heir.
Tickets for both shows are on sale to members on September 10 and to the general public on September 17. Book online at www.CanyonTheatre.org or call the box office at 661-799-2702.
