Connecting Industry with Parents

On October third, STREAM Global Innovations will be hosting their Parent Café in honor of their Manufacturing Day event the following day. Parent Cafés are industry-led panel discussions for parents to ask questions and get vital information on steps their child could take to get involved in this field. Created by a mother, Nikia Richards wanted to not just motivate our student participants, but equip them and their parents with the information, education, and resources they need to take advantage of future career opportunities. “Education is a partnership especially during K-12 and it is up to us to ensure our children are prepared for the future,” Nikia shared. Parent Café is a unique event for parents of students who are participating in one of our programs that places them in a round-table setting giving them access to ask questions and interact with our team and industry leaders about what their students will learn and how to progress to the next step. “Students find interest through parent and community support and we found that through our Café’s parents and their students are given information needed to be successful in their career path,” Nikia continued.
