Blue Star Ranch Seeks More Volunteers
Blue Star Ranch, Serving Our Nation’s Veterans is seeking more volunteers to help us serve more veterans with free Equine Assisted Therapy for PTSD, anxiety, depression and other mental health issues.
We have expanded to a new ranch site in Newhall, added additional therapy horses, work, and office space. More grants are written every day. Our Santa Clarita Business community support grows each day. And our citizens are learning more and more about Blue Star Ranch and the benefits of this alternative therapy.
If you feel as we do that our veterans deserve only the best, and would like to volunteer, or your business would like to be a sponsor call us. We would be happy to explain to you the many different ways you can be supportive. Affordable Corporate and Small Business Sponsorships are available so all can participate! Your logos appear at the ranch. Display our Sponsor Poster in your store window, you receive a link from our website to your website.
Volunteer Wish List
(Note: Volunteers Must Be Minimum Age Of 18 Years Old)
Ranch Volunteers: At the ranch we currently work mostly mornings. Monday through Saturday. Volunteers with horse handling, grooming, bathing, leading are needed to prep horses and rotate horses for therapy sessions, turn outs, and preparing and serving horses special lunches. Experienced horse staff may also train new volunteers. We do accept volunteers without experience who have a real interest in learning about horses, but after an in-take interview.
Going Out Team Volunteers: This team is critical to the success of spreading the word to invite new store front businesses to support Blue Star Ranch. Affordable choices for monthly donations per one year sign up. Sponsorships include Window Poster, link from our website to business website. These are two person teams meant to work together. All training and presentation materials are provided.
Annual Polo Expo fundraiser committee members: In May of 2019 we launched our 1st Annual Blue Star Ranch Polo Expo for Veterans Fund Raiser hosted by the California Polo Club. It was a big success! Different and fun for everyone. The California Polo Club members presented a polo game with two teams. Red team and Blue team. Special tokens were given out, and which ever color team won, those token holders got prize drawing tickets! Half Time was a Big Hit and featured the California Rangers Mounted Drill Team of Santa Clarita. Watching these young people ride in full Cavalry Uniforms was thrilling. And seeing our flag presented by the drill team color guard made your heart soar. Dinner, patriotic music, and wine tasting made for an exceptional event. More volunteers are needed to plan and execute this event. On event day volunteers are needed for set up, transporting event equipment, directing parking, etc.
If you would like to volunteer in some way, please call us for a volunteer interview. This is a great way to thank our veterans for their service.
