Common Client Questions
I speak to my clients throughout the day, I usually get the following questions:
Is my coverage adequate? Is it the right coverage? Do I need Flood Insurance? Do I need Earthquake Insurance? What is an Umbrella policy? What does all the technical insurance talk mean, anyway? I am sure this has passed through your mind occasionally. I will try and cover some of these questions.
Do I need Flood Insurance? Basic homeowner’s policies do not cover flood, and if it rains, it could flood. Some mortgage companies will typically require flood insurance if your home is in a flood zone. If you would like to know if you are in a flood zone, I can help you with that.
Is earthquake damage covered by my insurance policy? No. Earthquake coverage is a separate policy. This policy needs to be purchased from your Insurance Agent, as it is a companion policy to your homeowner’s policy.
What is an Umbrella policy? Umbrella insurance supplements the liability coverage you already have with your auto and home policies, providing an extra layer of coverage. Think of it as financial catastrophe protection. You’ve worked hard to purchase your home, cars and to build your savings. A personal umbrella policy can help you protect these assets from the unexpected. Umbrella insurance policy provides you with additional liability coverage, over and above the limits on your auto and other personal liability policies. This extra protection is available in $1 million increments up to $10 million.
Home insurance options and requirements can be complex and confusing. I offer a free service that will help you decide if your policy provides you the coverage you want. Let’s discuss it.
