How is Your Mood Lately?
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is a serious medical condition that can affect many areas of people’s lives. Some of the symptoms of MDD is depressed mood, low energy, lack of motivation, low functioning level, insomnia, crying spells, inability to socialize or perform a job or study. It can impact concentration, communication, relationships, and can trigger anger and irritation. Many people feel that it’s not worth living. All these symptoms are very concerning but still, some people with MDD never seek treatment or have lost their faith in improving their quality of lives.
Thirty-three percent of MDD patients are resistant to any medication and 52 percent fail to respond to first-line therapy. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared BrainsWay’s Deep TMS device for the treatment of depression in patients who failed to respond to antidepressant medications. The treatment is well-tolerated and has been demonstrated to be effective in several clinical trials.
BrainsWay is revolutionary, noninvasive, and one of the efficient treatment, that uses Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (dTMS) to safely and effectively target areas of the brain associated with MDD during 20 min daily treatment sessions for six to eight weeks.
Deep TMS is unique, patented treatment method stimulates deep and broad neuronal targets. The treatment involves deep magnetic stimulation of the bilateral prefrontal cortex, which has been shown to be responsible for depression, and has been shown to significantly improve depression symptoms in many patients, leading to remission in about one third of patients.
Patients who have not seen improvement in their MDD symptoms using other forms of treatment may finally find relief with Deep TMS. Deep TMS is a comfortable, non-invasive treatment options that does not require anesthesia or hospitalization. It carries no systemic side effects.
Studies have shown the treatment to be effective for patients with MDD who have failed to respond to or couldn’t tolerate medication. In real-life clinical settings, the treatment was proven to be effective for three out of four patients, with a 51 percent remission rate and a 75 percent response rate. BrainsWay’s unique treatment and personalized protocol can provide relief for your depression symptoms.
