JCI Santa Clarita To Host Meet the Jaycees Open Day, Training and Special Events!
The Santa Clarita Valley chapter of Junior Chamber International “The Jaycees” continues to grow welcoming two more new members this month, Kelsey Alter and Kayvan Kouchak, and has a series of exciting events lined up for the next six weeks including our first ever “meet the Jaycees open day”.
In October we have been hosting our first ever Random Acts of Kindness Month. We challenged the community to perform Random Acts of Kindness by providing a bingo card of ideas and have been thrilled with the response! Members have helped Circle of Hope cancer patients by providing messages of support and care packages, hosting a dinner at Bridge to Home and securing donations of much needed items for many non-profits in our valley.
In November we look forward to our latest “Chat and Chill” with special guest speaker, Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce CEO, John Muesella. Young professionals will hear his inspiring story of how he started his successful public affairs company, got involved with the SCV Chamber and used his life experiences to help put the Chamber on a course for success. The event is on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Margarita’s Mexican Grill starting at 6 p.m. Afterwards, JCI members will stay and hang out, network and discuss future projects and events. Have a project idea? Don’t be shy – we always welcome new ideas and perspectives.
Then on Saturday 16th November, JCI Santa Clarita warmly welcomes the community, particularly young professionals under 40 to our 1st ever “Meet The Jaycees Open Day”. Ever wanted to get involved in your community? Learn new skills? Make new friends? Whether you’ve heard of JCI Santa Clarita (the Jaycees) or not this open day is for you! We’re looking for young active citizens 18-40 to get involved!

This three-hour training is for anyone wishing to create new projects to help create positive change. The training is free for members or $15 per person for non-members. Learn how to identify the root causes of issues to create sustainable projects and create real impact and positive change in your community.
Then join us on November 21 for our first ever Friendsgiving Social, benefitting our Santa’s Helpers Appeal. Jaycees will be at the Westfield Town Center Grand Reopening from 6pm. At 7pm we will host our annual elections – ever wanted to take a leadership role in the community? Now is your chance! Following the elections, we will be having our first ever Friendsgiving social.
