Meet Piotr Orzechowski

 Piotr Orzechowski lives in Valencia with his wife, Chelsea, and serves as a Fuel Operations Analysts for Princess Cruises. On weekends, he volunteers as a Safety Officer on the Landscape Committee for the Friends of Castaic Lake (a non-profit group with a mission to support and enhance park programs at Castaic Lake). On some occasions, you may be able to find him sailing on his Lido 14 sailboat on Castaic’s Lower Lagoon.
During his tenure on the Fuel & Ship Stability Team at Princess, Piotr served as the Principal Project Manager for overseeing Panama modifications on Caribbean Princess and Emerald Princess. He designed, managed, and supervised installations of Panama-specific mooring equipment which made these large ships able to transit through the New Panama Canal Locks. Piotr also used his understanding of applied physics and fluid mechanics to create and write a software program that determines the number of tugboats needed for departure. His program will be utilized across all brands owned by Carnival Corporation. Due to his success at Princess Cruises, he was recently promoted to serve as the Environmental Manager in charge of Water Programs for the entire fleet.
Piotr’s accomplishments could not have been made possible without his mentor, James Kent (Senior Director of Newbuilds at Princess), his Mechanical Engineering instructor, Prof. Tom Brown (CEO of TPB Solutions Inc.), Captain Alan Wilson (VP of Marine Services at Princess), and his loving parents, Aleksander and Dr. Grazyna Orzechowski. Piotr is so grateful to win this award and would like to thank his amazing, high-spirited and devoted wife, Chelsea for helping him attain his success in the Santa Clarita Valley.
