Santa Clarita’s 14th Annual Military Honor Christmas Tree & Menorah Lighting
A Red, White & Blue Christmas with the Messick Family Singers! Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 5 p.m. Veterans Historical Plaza, 24275 Walnut St, Newhall. Heartwarming and fun, the community is invited to a very special ceremony to honor all of our military, past and present. Be sure to dress warm for this wonderful celebration. Hot cocoa, coffee and holiday treats will be provided, as we gather to hear a few words, pray for our military, enjoy Christmas songs & carols and the lighting of the Military Honor Christmas Tree & Hanukkah Menorah. The annual event, held on the first Saturday of December, is hosted by our hometown Prayer Angels for the Military, with SCV Young Marines, and veteran’s groups assisting.
Photos of our military, past and present will be laminated and displayed on stars. Photos on Blue Stars represent active duty servicemembers. Some are deployed and away from their families during the holidays. Photos of our veterans are on white stars and angels. Sadly, the Gold Stars represent a local family member that has died in service to our country. The SCV Young Marines will be placing a wreath to honor our fallen heroes. The Christmas Tree and Menorah will be lit every night through New Years for visitors to come by.
Submit a photo of your loved one (active duty, reserves or veteran) by November 22 by email: PrayerAngelsForTheMilitary@yahoo.com or mail to Prayer Angels for the Military, 21609 Oak Orchard Rd, Newhall, CA 91321. Wallet-sized photo preferred, in uniform, or not. Include their name, branch of service, rank and service area or theater, if known, along with your contact information. No need to submit every year. Photos are scanned into a secure file, in case damaged stars need to be replaced.
Contact Suzon at 661-799-8865, or email PrayerAngelsForTheMilitary@yahoo.com. Tax deductible donations to support the event can be made through PayPal online at: www.PrayerAngelsForTheMilitary.com.
