Holiday Packages Cheer Hometown Troops
SCV Community came together, through Prayer Angels for the Military, to send Christmas & Hanukkah care packages to local troops overseas. All ages helped to make sure our troops were not forgotten. Even Bethlehem Preschoolers, ages two to five had a collection drive for SCV deployed troops, also Girl Scouts, teens, seniors, veterans, churches, and individuals. A special Thank You goes out to Newhall Church of the Nazarene, St Clare Church, United Methodist Church, and Helping Hearts and Hands. Winter Packages, with beanies and scarves, will continue to go out through January, as additional funding comes in. Packages for local veterans in need are also prepared on a regular basis, and for holidays.
February brings Hearts for Heroes events throughout Santa Clarita (locations to be announced). Valentine’s Day cards will be made to say “Thank You” to our first responders, including local firefighters, Sheriff’s Deputies, paramedics, and our deployed troops. We’ll also be making care packages for troops. Most needed items are individually packaged snack items, especially Jerky & Slim Jims, along with tax-deductible funds for shipping out the care packages. Donation bin (24/7) at Prayer Angels for the Military, 21609 Oak Orchard Road, Newhall, CA 91321.
