Hearts for Heroes Thanking First Responders
Santa Clarita Kids, of all ages, will be participating in the 16th Annual Hearts for Heroes program to “Thank our First Responders”. Valentine’s Day Cards will be made for local troops, veterans, firefighters, Sheriff’s Deputies, and paramedics. The community wide effort, organized by Prayer Angels for the Military, takes place from January 25 through February 8. Local schools and youth groups will be making cards at their own locations, and a few dates will be set up to come make cards, where adults can participate, too!
These heartfelt cards will be proudly delivered to local fire stations, sheriff’s departments, veterans, and hundreds will be mailed to our troops overseas. SCV schools and youth groups have proudly made thousands of these wonderful cards of appreciation for many years.
Valentine’s Day Care Packages for local deployed troops will be made at select locations. Most needed items are Jerky, Slim Jims, beef logs & cheeses, individually packaged snacks and Valentine’s Day treats! Special gift bags will also be made for local veterans in need. Gift cards are always a welcome site!
Tax-deductible donations for postage to mail care packages is always needed. Mail donations to Prayer Angels for the Military, 21609 Oak Orchard Rd, Newhall, CA 91321, or donate online through PayPal at http://www.PrayerAngelsForTheMilitary.com. Donated items can be dropped off at same address (24/7 bin). Contact Suzon for further information, dates, and to add your troops name to receive packages. PrayerAngelsForTheMilitary@yahoo.com, 661-799-8865. The Newhall based 501c3 non-profit has organized the community care package program, supporting local troops all year, for 15 years. A dedicated team of Blue Star & Gold Star Families, veterans & community members of all ages, working together.
