18th Annual Charity Golf Tournament Join the Special Olympics for their annual event

Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run Charity Golf Tournament 2020 will be on Monday, April 27, 2020 and will be back at the beautiful Oaks Club of Valencia. Our 2020 Golf Tournament Chair is Commander Mike Hartmann, Ventura Sheriff Department; he is bringing some fun ideas to this year’s event. Tournament check-in starts at 7 a.m.; the Putting Contest starts at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Our after-tournament buffet will include awards, raffle items and silent auction which will start as soon as the golfers finish on the course.
Golfers come out and join us at our 18th Annual Charity Golf Tournament in Santa Clarita on Monday, April 27, 2020 at The Oaks of Valencia, supporting Special Olympics Santa Clarita and Tri-Valley athletes. “The annual Special Olympics Golf tournament is a great opportunity to play a challenging and fun course while serving a great cause at the same time. The athlete’s stories are so inspiring, and I truly admire their perseverance,” said a long-time participant. This Special Olympics tournament has sold out the last three years, sign up before it is too late.
Special Olympics Santa Clarita and Tri-Valley provide year-round Olympic–type sports to those with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics sports include athletics, basketball, bocce, bowling, cheerleading, flag football golf, floor hocking soccer, softball, swimming, tennis and volleyball. We have over 2,000 community athletes in our regions. Our traditional programs are for those ages 8 and older and our Young Athlete Program is designed for those two to seven years old.
All the money raised from this golf tournament goes to Special Olympics athletes. These funds help cover program costs including transportation, equipment, practice facilities and uniforms. We have 30 practice facility locations in our two regions. We have about 800 volunteers who are coaches and assist coaches who attend weekly practices and two or three tournaments per season with their team.
