Help! I Don’t know What to Wear to the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival
Don’t let the concern “I have nothing to wear!” keep you from moseying on down to the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival. This year’s dates are April 18 and 19 (www.cowboyfestival.org). With live music, delicious food and entertaining games, this is one event that you and your family do not want to miss. Assistance League® Santa Clarita is here to help you with great tips for making your outfit look “Western Ready.” Chances are, you can find these items right in your own closet. If you do happen to need a few extra pieces for you or your family members, stop by our Resale store at 24364 Main Street in Old Town Newhall. Our member volunteers will be happy to help you finish off your ensemble for a very reasonable price. Be certain to leave a little extra time to explore our store. We have many unique items, including antiques, that we have been saving all year long for this special season. You will not be disappointed!
How to Dress like a Cowboy/Cowgirl:
1. Pair plaid or floral shirts with denim for an easy and casual look.
2. Go monochromatic – wear all black or all white with cowboy boots for a dramatic look.
3. Accessorize! Have fun with a bandana, a bolo tie, a big belt buckle, a cowboy hat or boots.
4. Add chunky silver and turquoise jewelry to give that authentic “Western” look.
5. Consider incorporating leather and suede, whether it’s a vest, jacket or skirt.
6. Look romantic with long skirts or dresses with lace detail.
Two important things to know about shopping at Assistance League Resale are that we are a one hundred percent volunteer organization and that all proceeds from our store go directly back into the community to help families in need through our many programs.
