St. Paddy’s Day Care Packages

Community invited to make St. Paddy’s Day Care Packages for Santa Clarita troops. A free event for all ages, hosted by Prayer Angels for the Military. Craft making and card tables will be set up to make the packages fun and special for our overseas troops. Think Irish, lucky, and green!
Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., American Legion post 507, 24527 Spruce St, Newhall, CA 91321. Entry through the rear door. Parking lot shared with Newhall Library.
Please bring a donation, if you can. Look for something green! If you cannot make it, there’s a 24/7 donation bin at 21609 Oak Orchard Road, Newhall, CA 91321. Drop off cards at this residential address, as well. Tax-deductible shipping funds are always needed. Every little bit helps. Most needed items are: Individually packaged snacks and St. Paddy’s Day treats – granola bars, protein bars, trail mix, Jerky, Slim Jims, beef logs, crackers & peanut butter, nuts, cookies, Little Debbie cakes (exp. date two weeks or more), Top Ramen (not cup-o-soups), oatmeal, hot cocoa, & drink packets for water bottles. Pop-top cans of fruit & meals like hearty soups & chili, tuna kits & pouches, & special ground coffees (Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts) is a real treat!, Gum & candy (no chocolate), 3-4 blade razors, shaving cream, deodorant, bodywash, unscented baby wipes, individual packs of Q-tips, THICK cotton crew socks (black or white), AA & AAA batteries, crossword puzzles/sudoku, decks of cards, note pads, pens & mechanical pencils, blank cards to send home and current magazines.
