Ask Cathy – April 2020
Dear Cathy: You’ve been having these wonderful specials on photo rejuvenation lately, and something called the “Take Ten” but I really don’t know what they are and what they do? Does it hurt? I like microdermabrasion because I see results and my face feels so smooth. I hardly get red at all and don’t have to hide out afterwards, is this the same thing? Gina
Dear Gina: Photo rejuvenation treatments are wonderful anti-aging treatments. They are extremely effective in boosting collagen and oxygen levels in your skin which helps repair sun damaged skin, fines lines, age spots, acne, enlarged pores, thick skin and uneven pigmentation. It has also helps calm redness and Rosacea. This technology uses wavelengths of infrared and low-level light (LED) to stimulate your own collagen re-growth. Which you know puts elasticity back in your skin along with firming and tightening, for that instant face and neck lifting!
You mentioned Microdermabrasion, which is another great treatment that removes dead skin cells on the surface of the skin, we call this working the upper levels, you can do the photo rejuvenation immediately following your micro and get even better results, as the two work hand and hand with each other, since the photo rejuvenation reaches the deeper levels of your skin. It also has a calming effect, to take away any redness of the microdermabrasion. When you add a facial for deep cleaning to the Micro and Photo it is called our Take Ten (years off that is) You can imagine how good your skin will look and feel! And if you’re going for gold, add our Gold Collagen Mask and we do the photo right over the mask for the best results!
So now you know some of the things it does, how is photo rejuvenation preformed? We start with a clean face and neck, then depending on your skins concerns: (are you looking to lighten pigmentation, soften lines or clear acne/scarring, etc) we apply enhancing serums for your skins specific needs, and start the therapy using the two lightwave wands (which is approx. 2.5 inches in diameter) and gently glide them over your skin (one on each side). It is quite relaxing with absolutely zero pain. This is completely different from the rubber band snap feeling of the IPL that the dermatologists do, if you’ve ever had that done. The total light therapy is done in approx. 20 minutes. On top of all of the above benefits, there is no down time or risks, is a fraction of the cost of laser treatments and firms and plumps the skin including the lips! Photo rejuvenation treatments are recommended in a series of three to six for maximum results, (like microdermabrasion) and can be done two weeks apart. We look forward to taking care of all your skin care needs and pampering you soon.
