SCV Veg Fest Postponed!
In the interest of public health, the second annual SCV Veg Fest has been postponed. We hope to reschedule the festival for later in the year and will keep you posted on Facebook, Instagram as well as our website, SCVVegFest.com. And, of course, this magazine.
Healthy living is the main tenet of the festival and the current crisis has made the bringing together of thousands of people, impossible. We were so looking forward to bringing together our health community, including Henry Mayo Hospital, UCLA Health, our hiking, yoga, mindfulness, sustainability clubs as well as the communities around environmental sustainability and animal love, together to celebrate. We have also been overwhelmed by the fabulous musical talent in our valley, eager to perform for the Veg Festers. But we will have to wait for a healthier time.
We would like to think the Veg Fest is more than just a one-day event, but rather a movement of like-minded individuals, governed by compassion. Compassion for our bodies, the planet and our animals.
Yes, the plant-based food is amazing. Yes, yoga in the park with hundreds of others, is cool. Yes, the commitment to sustainable living on this blue globe orbiting the sun at 67,000 miles per hour, is key. Yes, the best local musicians will rock us and our grape fermenters and craft brewers will excite our senses. But please support our cause. Think about our mission. And come celebrate those values at our next SCV Veg Fest.
