Single Mothers Outreach
At SMO we are adjusting to the new normal as we hold the tension between maintaining our operations and practicing social distancing. Inevitably the coronavirus (COVID19) will have an impact on nonprofits and the communities we serve.
Following Public Health Officials’ regulations and in the best interest of our community Single Mothers Outreach has made the decision to postpone our Fundraising Gala Empowering HeArts to a later date in the year.
We will continue to plan. We will continue to sell tickets and accept sponsorships. We will continue to prepare for a beautiful night to celebrate women with inspiring stories and art. We will just have to ask you to wait a little longer.
We would also like to ask you to keep supporting us as we continue the uninterrupted delivery of essential services. Nonprofits step up in disasters. Our work continues as the needs are still present. SMO is offering therapy via telephone. Our case workers are back to back with appointments supporting mental health services. We continue to bring food to the table of moms and kids in Santa Clarita. We are providing diapers, formula and wipes to our families. We continue bringing hope and empowering women in the midst of a global crisis.
There are many ways you can also support. Be part of Empowering HeArts by simply buying a ticket to enjoy an unforgettable night. Become a sponsor and support a great cause. Donate to the organization and participate in changing someone’s life. Shop at Closet on Main and treat yourself to great deals as you make a difference with your purchase.
In the meantime, we will continue to watch for recommendations from public health officials and we will be making any necessary changes to procedure and the delivery of services. We will be communicating with our community as we all are in this together. We will overcome this together.
