Land of the Free Care Packages for Santa Clarita Troops
Help is needed to send care packages to local troops overseas. Donations are almost depleted, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. For the first time, in 17 years, Prayer Angels for the Military has had to cancel the community care packing days. Coming to a complete halt since March, the Gerstel family has continued the monthly effort from their own home. Sorting, decorating, filling, and shipping out care packages, on behalf of our community. Making sure our home-town troops know they are not forgotten.
Local businesses, and community members are being asked to participate, if they can. Items are needed to fill the care packages, and funds are needed for shipping. Cards to our troops, from all ages, are needed to go inside the packages. Help is needed to decorate the inside flaps of the care packages. Community service hours, and supplies are available. Check for updates on future packing dates, what’s needed most, add troop names to the list and ways to help at prayerangelsforthemilitary@yahoo.com, or call Suzon or Dale at 661-799-8865.
Land of the Free Because of the Brave – Red, White & Blue Care Packages will continue to go out through the summer months. Look for things in these colors to make these patriotic packages even more special! Most needed items are Jerky, Slim Jims, beef logs, crackers, smooth peanut butter, single serving snacks, cookies & drink packets for water bottles, gum, hard candy, granola & protein bars. Little Debbie & Hostess cakes should have exp. dates 2-3 weeks away. Tax deductible funds for shipping are also badly needed. Make checks payable to & mail to Prayer Angels for the Military, 21609 Oak Orchard Rd, Newhall, CA, 91321, or use the PayPal Donate button online at www.prayerangelsforthemilitary.com.
Donation bin available 24/7 at the same address.
