The SCV Senior Center at Bella Vida Serving Like Never Before
The SCV Senior Center continues to serve the Senior community in the Santa Clarita Valley. The Center called “Bella Vida” has been closed since March 16th but is busier than ever. The commitment to provide a quality of life for seniors is no more apparent than now.
The Senior Center has no plans to open for the time being. The Senior population is the most vulnerable during this pandemic and our goal is to serve in every possible way except in group gatherings. The restrictions might be easing for the general population, but for Seniors this remains a time of caution. This forces our staff and volunteers to find new ways to reach out and serve our community.
Each day we have 22 different Meals on Wheels routes head out to serve the community delivering over 700 meals a day. They deliver a great lunch, a smile underneath a mask and that reassurance that someone cares. The gratefulness of those receiving meals is amazing and touches the hearts of our volunteer drivers.
The famous Bella Vida Drive Thru meal service continues to serve over 400 each day. We now offer live music two days a week and “themes” every Wednesday. Every holiday is celebrated, just in your car. Our latest dog treats are also a hit at the Drive Thru for our canine friends.
Many of our classes are now offered on-line, so don’t hesitate to check our website and join us from home. Please share with friends and family that the Senior Center is here to listen and serve, so reach out to us at 661-259-9444.
