Zonta Club Of Santa Clarita Valley Continues To Empower Women Despite Covid-19 Impact

by | Aug 27, 2020 | Community

The Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley will not allow the COVID-19 pandemic to interfere with its mission of empowering women and girls. Creativity was necessary for the club to continue providing workshops designed to promote self-sufficiency and provide knowledge on effectively handling life issues.
A Task Force created by the City of Santa Clarita in 2009 determined that a segment of women had unmet needs because of life situations and circumstances. In 2010, the Zonta Club of SCV launched Lifeforward, a series of free workshops. Now in its 10th year, Lifeforward encourages women to: Believe in your unlimited power and potential, Build the skills necessary to succeed, AND Be the powerful woman that you are meant to be! These powerful directives personify what the workshops offer to attendees which include teens, women and men.
The Zonta Club of SCV is developing timely Zoom workshop topics to be presented by Subject Matter Experts. Workshops will be available in this webinar format until group participation with social distancing is permitted. A series of workshops will also address current issues as a result of working from home, social distancing and mask wearing.
The August 29, 2020 workshop “Life During COVID-19 – Survive a Perfect Storm!” presents techniques on managing life changes and moving forward. The following topics will also be presented in the coming months ~ September: Cope with Anxiety, Loneliness & Depression During Life-Changing Times; October: Self-Care, Mindfulness & Growth Mindset; November: Balance Family, Life & Stress During the Holiday Season.
