Blue Star Ranch Receives Visit From Congressman Mike Garcia
Blue Star Ranch, provider of Equine Therapy for veterans suffering with Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder (PTSD) was delighted to host Congressman Mike Garcia (also a veteran) at the ranch.
The Blue Star Ranch Mission is to “Lower the suicide and divorce rate for these veterans.” Spouses and children are included when applicable. In order to give the Congressman a better understanding of how Blue Star Ranch Therapy works he participated in a mock therapy session with two Blue Star Ranch (BSR) graduate veterans Kenny Luna, and Javaris Turner, along with Mental Health Specialist Katie Ryan, and Equine Specialist Nicole Burns.
Volunteers and veterans were impressed with Congressman Garcia’s understanding of the needs of PTSD veterans and their families. And, he understood everything we were teaching him about our methods. Our therapy horses are the key to this unique therapy. Equine Therapy has proven to be more successful than traditional “talk therapy” for our veterans with PTSD and other mental health issues.
Thank you Congressman Garcia, for visiting the ranch and learning about the great need for Blue Star Ranch services.
If you would like to support Blue Star Ranch and our efforts to lower the suicide rate and divorce rate among our veterans, you can donate on-line at our website: www.BlueStarRanch.org.
