Step Up to End Domestic Violence and Join The Purple Walk
Step Up to give domestic violence survivors help and hope. Join Child & Family Center’s Virtual 5k Purple Walk/Run, Saturday October 17, to raise funds and awareness during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Step One – SIGN UP at www.childfamilycenter.org/purplewalk. Registration is $35 per walker ages 12+. and includes a t-shirt, swag bag and medal. Children under 12 are free.
Step Two – Join a Team. Get your friends to join your team or ask your friends and family to support
your efforts and donate in your honor.
Step Three – Walk outdoors in your neighborhood, on the paseos, or on one of the suggested trails. All suggested routes will have a downloadable map. Or walk indoors on your treadmill. Results will be on the honor system. Just provide a picture on your Garmin, Apple Watch, running app., treadmill monitor or even a photo of an old school stop-watch! It just needs to be an image of your distance submitted with a time.
Step Four – Stride All walk/runs should be completed between October 17-24, 2020.
Event kick-off is via Facebook live at 8 am on Saturday, October 17. Join us virtually for live videos, music and hear how Child & Family Center’s Domestic Violence Program provides life-saving and life-changing shelter and services to survivors and their children right here in our community.
